How is Home Security Alarm Systems Working?

Smart home security can integrate surveillance with knowledge and control through sensors. Sensors are integral parts of any home automation system, and security is not exceptional. Smart sensors such as PIR motion detector will send alerts to a smart phone when they have been activated by motion, sound, light, temperature and humidity, allowing home owners to save the services charges from third party and monitor from their smart phone directly.

Wi-Fi enabled cameras such as ANSEE alarm IP cameras also incorporate motion sensors and alarm siren. Billed as an all-in-one security device, Ansee’s smart phone app allows a homeowner to view a live feed, see a timeline of past recordings triggered by events such as motion, and view the homes’ “health”—readings of temperature, humidity and air quality. The alarm component is particularly interesting, as it relies on the homeowner to trigger it, eliminating the risk of false alarms. However, the homeowner needs to be available 24/7 to receive those alerts.

For those more traditional-minded (or less available, world-traveling) security seekers, some companies offer wireless portable alarm security systems that can be self-installed to monitor alarm environment. Combined with door and window sensors, integrated smoke detectors, glass break alarms and motion sensors, homeowners can essentially replicate an expensive monitored home security system. These systems can also be armed, disarmed and monitored from a smart phone.
